The retained National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), lawyer George Opare Addo, has questioned the influence of Sammy Gyamfi on the party’s elections.
Lawyer George Opare Addo retained his position after a keenly contested election in Cape Coast on Saturday 10th December 2022.
The National Communications Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, endorsed Brogya Genfi days prior to the party’s Women and Youth Congress.
In a tweet, Sammy Gyamfi stated that he believes Brogya Genfi was the right person the NDC needed as a youth organizer.
“He is strategic, inspiring, COURAGEOUS, a unifier, and a team player. He is Brogya Genfi- the Youth Leader, the @OfficialNDCGh needs”, Sammy Gyamfi tweeted.

Unfortunately , Opare Addo, affectionately called Pablo, beat his sole contender, Yaw Brogya Genfi, by obtaining 533 votes.
Brogya Genfi, who was the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser, amassed a total of 508 votes of the valid votes cast.
Reacting to the issue on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Kaakyire Ofori Ayim, Lawyer George Opare Addo said Sammy Gyamfi’s popularity has no influence on the elections.
According to Opare Addo, the delegates were certain and were not going to substitute gold for copper.
“Sammy Gyamfi thinks he is popular, he may be popular out there, but he has no influence on the votes.” Organization doesn’t like noise, if you are an organizer, your job is on the ground, and that is what we all saw during the elections. When they felt they were making noise, the delegates who were down there knew the job I had done with them over the last four years, and they were certain they were not going to substitute gold for copper. “We won fairly and squarely,” George Opare Addo told Kaakyire Ofori Ayim.
