Opuni took a ‘bribe’ of GHC25,000 according to Count 20

 

It is now public knowledge that the  state has filed a case of financial loss against Dr Stephen Kwabena Opuni, a former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana COCOBOD and  Seidu Agongo, CEO of Zeera Group of Companies and Agricult Ghana Limited,

A total of 27 charges have been levelled against the two business partners.

One of the interesting aspects of the suit is the claim that , Dr Opuni, who was earning a monthly salary of  GHC70,000  accepted a bribe of  GHC25,000

Count 20  states: “Stephen Kwabena Opuni on the 10th of October 2014 in Accra, agreed to permit  your conduct as the Chief Executive Officer  of COCOBOD to be influenced with an amount of Twenty Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (Ghc25,000) from Seidu Agongo”.
