Information Minister Kojo Oppong Nkrumah conveying the government’s message to the frontline health workers said, “The commemoration of the day comes at a time when the role of the nurse needs no further highlighting. As you are aware, we are in the mix of a pandemic and the nurse is an instrumental figure in this fight.’’
The President of the GRNMA Perpetual Ampofo, also commended Government for trying its best to keep nurses and midwives safe but reiterated that Government’s best is not enough when it comes to PPE’s at this Covid 19 era.
At the launch, the Deputy Minister for Health, Dr Bernard Oko Boye, who represented the sector minister stated that, government has given financial clearance for the recruitment of over 20,000 nurses this year and government is still in the process of recruiting more.
