Pentecost University holds 15th Congregation

The Pentecost University (PU) celebrated its 15th Congregation on Saturday, 27th April 2024, at the Sowutuom Campus, marking the second batch of graduates for the 2023/2024 academic year

In his speech, the Vice Chancellor, Aps. Prof. Kwabena Agyapong-Kodua, reflected on his four-year term, expressing gratitude to the Chancellor and the appointing body for their confidence in him.

He highlighted the university’s journey towards becoming “University A+”, emphasizing its uniqueness, research-led approach, and adherence to biblical values.

Notable achievements during his tenure include receiving awards for being the best university with Christian values, as well as securing grants from various international institutions.

The university also saw significant growth in spiritual activities and ministerial training, with over 400 CoP ministers trained and commissioned.

Academically, PU expanded its program offerings and research endeavors, securing grants for research in areas such as AI, Cyber-Physical Systems, and Digital Manufacturing education in Africa.

The university also established collaborations with international institutions and hosted prestigious events like the James McKeown Memorial Lectures and the Global STEM & Computing Education Summit. Moreover, PU demonstrated its commitment to community development through initiatives such as the Pentecost Centre for Strategic Philanthropy and Social Investment (CESPSI) and mentoring Carest College of Health. Looking forward, the Vice Chancellor proposed the introduction of a compulsory moral and national development curriculum for all graduates, as well as enhancements to ministerial training and other programs.

He urged the graduates to uphold integrity and skills acquired at PU, emphasizing the importance of making a positive impact in society. The congregation saw the graduation of 344 students from various faculties, including Business Administration, Health and Allied Sciences, Engineering, Science and Computing, and the Pentecost School of Theology and Mission. Among them were pioneering students from the Agape program, as well as esteemed ministers from the Christian Praise International Church. In conclusion, the Vice Chancellor urged the graduates to uphold the university’s values and make a difference in the world, reminding them that the country needs graduates with integrity and problem-solving skills. The event concluded with blessings and congratulations to the graduates, marking the beginning of their journey as PU alumni.
