Photos: Ga South Municipal Assembly gets new presiding officer 

 

Mohammed Abdul Wahab is the new Presiding Member of the Ga South Municipal Assembly in the Greater Accra Region.

He secured two-thirds of the votes of Assembly Members to become the presiding member. He polled 26 votes out of total 28 votes during the assembly’s maiden meeting on Friday.

Present at the meeting were the  MCE for the Ga South Municipal Assembly, Mr Joseph Nyarni, Deputy Greater Accra Regional Minister, Mrs Elizabeth Sackey,  Sophia Karen Ackuaku, MP for Domeabra Obom Constituency, MP for Bortianor Ngleshie Amafrom, Alhaji Habib Saad, Assembly members and a host of other dignitaries.

Addressing the gathering, the MCE emphasized on the need to work faster to improve the lives of the people in the area.

“I am a man in a hurry, I am in hurry to improve the lives of my people. I want Ga-South to become a reference point in education, health, infrastructure, industries and sanitation in the capital," he said.    

When Atinkafmonline spoke to the MCE after the meeting, he emphasized on the need to work very hard to improve on revenue mobilization which he believes can lead to accelerated growth. 

He stated that the assembly has put in place measures to improve education, health, and infrastructural development. 

He seized the opportunity to call on investors to come and invest in  the area since the assembly has a number of incentives for such initiatives.
