Many residents have been rendered homeless following a heavy downpour at Akyem – Asuom in the Kwaebiberim District of the Eastern Region.
The rains lasted for almost four hours Sunday afternoon.
The accompanying storm ripped roofs off several houses, school structures, market and a church. Some electricity poles were also destroyed.
The displaced persons have so far not received relief items from the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO).
