Head Pastor of Alive Chapel, Prophet Salifu Amoako has offered an apology to the families of two girls who lost their lives due to the accident caused by his son at East Legon last week.
He has also begged the two families to forgive him and his family and as well prayed to God to console them.
In a video, the prophet humbly knelt down to show how sad and remorseful he is over the tragedy.
He has also called on all Ghanaians to apologise to the families of the bereaved to have mercy on him and forgive him, adding that he cannot think straight.
On 12th October 2024, suspect driver and son of Bishop Salifu Amoako, Elrad Salifu Amoako, aged 16, driving a Jaguar SUV vehicle with registration number GN 7801 – 20 with one other occupant, rammed into a 4×4 Acura vehicle also with registration number GR 2542 – 23, driven by Joseph Ackah with four other occupants, at Mensah Wood Street at East Legon.
Both cars caught fire and burned beyond recognition. As a result, two girls, Justine Agbenu and Maame Dwomoh Boateng, both 12 years of age, lost their lives while three of the victims in the 4×4 Acura survived.
Later in the week, Salifu Amoako and his Wife, Mouha Amoako were arrested and sent to court for allowing their son who is underage to drive.
However, the court granted the couple and one Linda Bempah who allegedly handed over keys to the suspect a bail of GHC50,000 each and urged them to avail themselves for trial.
The death of the two girls has infuriated a lot of Ghanaians, with most sharing their frustrations on social media.
Salifu Amoako’s apology video also dropped on Friday, October 18,2024, same day the families, friends and sympathizers were set to hold an all white candlelight vigil in memory of the two girls at the accident scene.

“To the family who have lost your children, It is me, Salifu Amoako speaking. I beg you to have pity on me. I pray for the two families to be consoled. May God strengthen you. I will ask all Ghanaians and all pastors to beg the families for me. I cannot explain myself. With what has happened, I am unable to think well. I have cried a lot about what happened and I do not have the strength to even cry again. I beg the families to forgive me and be strong,” he stated.
Meanwhile, the suspect driver with the other occupant in the Jaguar vehicle who were rescued although sustained injuries and are still on admission at the hospital.
