Police arrest six Kandahar boys over TTH chaos

 

The Tamale Police Command has arrested 6 boys believed to be part of pro NPP group, Kandahar boys, who attacked the CEO and managers of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The arrest follows the attack by a group of thugs believed to be members of the NPP’s Kandahar vigilante group, on Monday 13th August, on the CEO and managers of the Tamale Teaching Hospital.

The group reportedly attacked and locked up the office of the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Tamale Teaching Hospital, Dr David Zaawumya Kolbila first before proceeding to the officers of the managers.

The six boys are currently at the Regional Police Head office in Tamale assisting investigations.

Meanwhile, Nurses and Midwives of the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) have declared a sit-down -strike to express their displeasure over the attack on the hospital.

Chairman for the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH) branch of the Ghana Registered Nurses Association, Abdul Rashid Haidallah, who spoke on Atinka FM’s morning show explained that they do not want anything of that sought to happen in the coming years hence the association’s decision to embark on the strike action.

“We no longer feel safe in the facility. And it will be so until the conditions stated in our statement are met”, he added.
