Police Command commiserates with murdered policewoman’s family

The Tema Regional Police Welfare team made up of the Deputy Regional Police Commander ACP/Alhaji Baba Saanid Adamu and Superintendent John Afuugu – the Regional Welfare Director, accompanied by the Director, Counselling Unit, Police Hospital, ACP/Dr. Phyllis OSEI on Monday, January 24, 2022, paid a visit to the family house of the late Constable Regina Angenu, formerly of Paga Police Station who met her untimely death while off-duty at Bawku on Sunday, January 23, 2022.

The purpose of the visit was to officially announce the death of the Policewoman to the family and to also commiserate with them during this period of mourning .

The Team was met on arrival by Mr. Alla Adjetey, Mr. Daniel Oko Ashittey, Mr. Moses Tetteh and Mr. Benjamin Ashittey, all family members of the deceased Officer.

The Deputy Regional Police Commander, ACP Alhaji Baba Saanid Adamu extended condolences and well wishes on behalf of the Inspector-General of Police, Director-General/ Welfare and the entire Police Administration and also assured them of the Police Administration’s support for the organisation of a befitting burial for their beloved daughter.

The Director of the Counselling Unit took the family through series of Counselling procedures to help them manage the shock. Meanwhile, Counselling for the 10-year-old daughter of the fallen Officer was scheduled later in the day as she was not immediately available.

On their behalf, a member of the family thanked the Police for the kind gesture accorded them and assured the Police that they would go for a family meeting and later update the Police on funeral arrangements at the appropriate time.
