Power Outages In Accra: ECG, NADMO Join Forces to restore supply

The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced ongoing efforts in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to restore power to parts of the Greater Accra Region affected by heavy rainstorms on Sunday, May 18.

The storm, which led to widespread flooding, caused power disruptions in several communities. In the aftermath, NADMO directed ECG to isolate electricity supply to a number of areas for safety reasons, pending further assessment.

The affected areas include Borteyman Stadium, Affordable Housing, Borteyman Township, Little Roses, Lakeside, Nanakrom, Kissieman, Dome Pillar 2, Christian Village, School Junction, School Junction Melcom, Nmaidzor Zoomlion, University Farms, Trasacco 3rd Gate, Legon Hill, Santoe, Blue Kiosk, Adenta ECG Office, and Madina Islamic University.

In a public notice, ECG assured residents that it is working closely with NADMO to ensure a safe and timely restoration of power to the affected communities once clearance is given.

Customers experiencing individual or localised outages, or who have observed fallen poles and sagging conductors, are urged to report such incidents to the ECG Call Center via 0302-611611, visit the nearest ECG office, or contact ECG through its social media handles @ECGghOfficial on Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), or Instagram.

ECG extended its appreciation to customers for their patience and understanding during the ongoing restoration efforts.
