Prez Mahama Appoints Madina MP Sosu, 8 Others to GRA Board

Madina Sosu

President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E John Dramani Mahama, has appointed the Member of Parliament for Madina, Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu, and eight other individuals to serve on the Board of Directors of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA).

The appointments, which take immediate effect, form part of efforts by the Mahama administration to strengthen revenue mobilization and improve governance at the country’s tax agency.

Francis-Xavier Sosu, a private legal practitioner and human rights advocate, brings his legal expertise and public policy experience to the GRA Board. He is expected to play a key role in helping the authority pursue more transparent and inclusive tax policies.

The board is chaired by Hon. George Ricketts Hagan, a former Deputy Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Cape Coast South.

  2. Mr. Anthony Sarpong – GRA Commissioner and Member
  3. Mr. Patrick Nomo – Member
  4. Hon. Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare – Member
  5. Dr. Zakaria Mumuni – Member
  6. Madam Faustina Nelson – Member
  7. Mr. George Ayiretey – Member
  8. Hon. Laadi Ayamba – Member
  9. Hon. Francis-Xavier Sosu – Member

In his remarks, Dr. Forson emphasized the critical role the GRA plays in Ghana’s economic development and called on the board to lead reforms that will enhance efficiency, compliance, and transparency in revenue collection.

The GRA Board is responsible for providing strategic direction, oversight, and policy guidance to the Authority as it works to increase domestic revenue and ensure compliance with tax laws.
