Redemption Methodist Choir harmonizes to victory in Okaikwei Central XMAS Competition

A dazzling rendition at the Apenkwa Astro Turf last Saturday crowned the Redemption Methodist Choir champions of the Okaikwei Central XMAS Choir competition.

Overcoming stiff competition from four other talented choirs, they walked away with the grand prize of a GH₵20,000 dummy cheque presented by the event’s sponsor, the Member of Parliament for the area, Patrick Boamah.

This inaugural event, designed to usher in the festive season, drew 30 vibrant singing bands and choirs from across the constituency. It not only showcased the exceptional musical talent within Okaikwei Central but also fostered a spirit of community and camaraderie among the participating churches.

Mr. Boamah extended his congratulations to all participants, including the enthusiastic audience who contributed to the electrifying atmosphere. He encouraged the winning choir to seek further guidance and experience from renowned groups like the Winneba and Tema Youth choirs.

Looking ahead, Mr. Boamah announced exciting plans for future editions. He promised even greater prize money and an expansion to include church groups from beyond the constituency. He envisioned Okaikwei Central’s thriving musical scene as a platform for job creation for the youth, reaffirming his commitment to harnessing its potential.

Finally, he urged the remaining finalists to keep their musical flames burning and contribute to the continued success of the competition.
