In a statement by the Presidency on February 14, 2024, the President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo relieved some ministers off their duty with immediate effect.

Speaking on Atinka TV‘s morning show, Ghana Nie with Bernard Lav, Kojo Mensah Esq said the reshuffle was long overdue.

However, he said looking at the time left for the President to exit, the reshuffling will not bring any major change to the country.

“I do not think this will make any major impact on our governance with few months left for Nana Addo to leave,” he said.

Meanwhile he said all those mentioned to take over are all the same because they were part of the government and contributed to the current state of the economy.

“We have borrowed over $600 million and people are really going through hardship, they are all part of the situation,” he said.

Meanwhile, he said the President should have allowed Ken Ofori Atta to go when his own people said they had no confidence in him.

“It is not only the NDC that called for the resignation of Ken Ofori Atta, his own people, 83 Members of Parliament called for his removal and the President begged them to allow Ken to negotiate the IMF and leave when he is done but he stayed till now,” he said.
