The Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana has initiated the “PEACE GATHERING 2024” initiative to foster unity, peaceful coexistence, and unity among political actors, community leaders, and citizens, aiming for a peaceful election before, during, and after the 2024 election.
Dignitaries including Dr. Commissioner Mettle Nunoo and Patricia DOVI Sampson, International Secretary for the Fellowship, attended the launch on the theme “The Call to Action: Unity Fly the Flag for Peace”.
At the launch today, October 29, 2024, the Scout and Guide Fellowship Ghana duly announced the strategic plan for the fellowship that aims to bring together all political leaders, citizens, and our youth to build a better, more peaceful future for Ghana.
Speaking during the launch at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra, the National President for SGF-GH, Andrew Botchwey, urged Ghanaians to consider peace over any priority for Ghana to win together.
The President for SGF-GH reiterated that the peace walk and the flying of the national flag symbolize our harmonious characteristics as Ghanaians, which include tolerance, respect, and solidarity.
“Ghana is bigger than any entity in the country, be it a political party, tribe, or religion, we believe, as we all come together as a unitary state where we have continued to overcome our tribal differences and be more homogeneous in flying the Ghana Flag high,” he stated.
He further called on political actors, community leaders, and the youth to foster harmony and inclusivity, which are vital in achieving unity in diversity.
