Sheila Bartels transforms ICT Learning at Wesley Grammar SHS

Outgoing Member of Parliament for Ablekumah North, Sheila Penelope Bartels, has made a remarkable impact on the educational landscape of her constituency by refurbishing the ICT Lab at Wesley Grammar Senior High School. The donation of 80 brand-new computers marks a significant upgrade for the school, which previously had to rely on borrowed laptops for practical sessions.

This transformative gift follows a direct appeal from the school to Bartels, who, with her background in IT and staunch support for the Vice President’s digitization agenda, saw it as a crucial step in preparing students for a modern workforce.

Speaking to the media, Madam Bartels expressed her enthusiasm for supporting the Free Senior High School (SHS) Policy initiated by the President and endorsed by the incoming President, Dr. Bawumia.

“It is imperative that we equip our students with modern skills to prepare them for the future,” she remarked. “This donation is not just about technology; it’s about aligning with the Vice President’s vision of creating one million IT jobs for our youth.”

The headmistress of Wesley Grammar, Barbara-Juliet Takyiwaa Thompson, shared her relief and gratitude. She recounted the challenges the school faced with its previous reliance on borrowed laptops and how the appeal to Bartels resulted in a swift and generous response.

“The donation has brought immense joy and relief to both our students and teachers,” Thompson said. “We will remember her forever for her contributions,” she added.
