The Founder and Leader of the People’s National Party (PNP), Janet Asana Nabla, has asked the Ghanaian electorate to vote for the PNP as both the NPP and NDC have both failed woefully.
Janet Asana Nabla and some others broke away from the People’s National Convention (PNC) to form another political movement, the People’s National Party (PNP).
They said the decision to leave the PNC came as a result of the fact that they disagreed with the ruling of the high court for reinstating individuals they believed were rightfully dismissed from leadership positions due to what they claimed as financial malfeasance and misconduct.
“We stand before you today with heavy hearts and a deep sense of responsibility to our principles and the people we serve. It is with great sadness that we announce our decision to leave the People’s National Convention (PNC) and form our own party, the People’s National Party (PNP),” the Interim General Secretary of the PNP, Sulemana Seidu, said at a press conference in Accra in April 2024.
Speaking in an interview on Atinka FM’s AM Drive with host Nana Yaw Fianko, Janet Asana Nabla explained that it is high time Ghanaians joined forces to support a formidable third party to handle the affairs of the country.
She opined that both the NPP and NDC have failed to formulate policies that would be more beneficial to the ordinary Ghanaian.”
“If we talk about political parties in charge of the affairs of the economy, is it not NPP and NDC? And if you think the NPP is not handling the economy well and so you are going to elect the NDC. Is it not from fry pan to fire? The two parties are in Parliament and they can’t even do anything about the hardship of Ghanaians. PNP wants Ghanaians to know that a time has come for them to change positively from the NPP and NDC and move to the camp of the PNP so that we take you to the promised land,” Janet Asana Nabla told Nana Fianko.
