Special voting successfully conducted across the country

The special voting for the 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections was successfully conducted across the country on Tuesday

Reports indicates that so far, the special voting has been peaceful and recorded no violence.

The voting which started at 7 a.m. ended at 5 p.m.

The Electoral Commission (EC) put in place measures to stop the spread of covid-19 whiles the exercise went on smoothly.

At some various centres, the EC officials, Parliamentary Candidates and voters expressed satisfaction with the electoral process and commended the Electoral Commission for a successful exercise.

Abuakwa

At the Abuakwa South Constituency in the Eastern Region, the Parliamentary candidate for GUM, Hon. Felix Banin Preprah expressed gratitude to EC Officials for the arrangements made to ensure a successful voting process especially in adherent to COVID-19 safety protocols.

According to him, the atmosphere was conducive and peaceful as expected.

Sandema

At the local council Hall Polling station opposite the Builsa North Municipal police commander’s office in Sandema, the exercise went on successfully.

As at the time Atinka Media village visited the Polling station, a total of 237 voters out of 394 voter were able to cast their votes.

Bono, Bono East & Ahafo

Reports from the Bono Region, Bono East and Ahafo Region also indicated that voting started at 7a.m. and ended at 5 p.m. with no unusual report.

Tamale

At the Tamale Central Constituency, the Electoral Commission Returning Officer for the Tamale Metropolis, Mr. Bismarck Tetteh in an interview expressed satisfaction about the process.

According to him, since the start of polls, the process had been fair to both political parties.

Reports also indicate that there was calm all over the centres.
