A Sekondi Magistrate Court in the Western Region has charged suspects in the Takoradi kidnap case with murder.
Atinka News’ Western Regional correspondent, Mathew Dazie, who was in court reported that the suspects in the case, John Orji and Sam Udoetuk Wills, were charged with murder after government dropped previous suit against two.
The two were initially charged with six counts of conspiracy to commit crime to wit kidnapping after the disappearance of four girls from the Takoradi Metropolis in 2018.
15-year- old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, and Ruth Love Quayson were kidnapped in August of 2018.
Main suspect, Nigerian Sam Udoetuk Wills was re-arrested after breaking out of police custody in connection with these girls, was handed a 36-month jail term for breaking out of cell.
John Oji was later arrested in connection with the kidnap of the girls.
A security operation at Kasaworodo in the Western region capital, Takoradi where the suspect, Sam Udoetuk, lived, revealed human remains suspected to be that of the missing girls.
After series of investigations and DNA tests by the Police, it was confirmed that the remains were indeed that of the girls.
