Management of the Central Hospital in Tamale has announced that, it has suspended all surgeries, effective Thursday 23rd December 2021.
The hospital in a memo said the decision to suspend the surgeries is as a result of shortage of essential supplies and water.
According to the statement, patients visiting the hospital have over the last three weeks been forced to buy almost all consumables needed for surgeries, an act which has generated negative discussions in the media.
The hospital has assured the general public that the surgeries will resume as soon as suppliers are provided.
” It is with deep regret that I write to inform you of the cancellation of all surgeries with effect from Thursday 23rd December 2021.
