Taxi driver who ‘killed’ people for rituals denied bail again

A repeat application for bail moved by lawyer for the taxi driver, Felix Ansah who allegedly confessed to the killing of several people for rituals on live TV has been dismissed by an Accra Circuit Court   

The accused person has been remanded into Police custody to reappear on September 28.

In court on Thursday, September 16, 2021, the prosecutor, Inspector Princess Tetteh Boafo said the suspect had mention some places (where the supposed acts were committed) around the country that require them to travel across the country for more investigation. However, his Lawyer Theophilus Donkor argued that the prosecution had only come to court with an empty sheet for the court to fill for them.

According to him, the case against his client is more of a spiritual thing than it looks and should be admitted to bail thus, he described the invitation to remand the accused person into custody as being in “bad taste.”

The court presided over by judge Rosemond Baah Torsu said the time given to the prosecution to reappear today was so short therefore, refused the repeat application for bail and adjourned the case to September 28, 2021.

Meanwhile the suspect’s lawyer also drew the court’s attention to the concerns that his client was not being fed in custody but the prosecutor said she was only hearing that concern for the first time and assured the court that  the concerns of the accused person will be addressed.

The Ghana Police Service recently commenced investigations into claims by Felix Ansah that he had killed many people for rituals.

The taxi driver made the confession on Accra based Onua TV on September 2, 2021.

Following his admission of the alleged commission of such acts, Ansah was arrested to assist the Police in investigations.

The Ghana police promised to update the public on the matter involving the Taxi driver and related matters.
