Test-Run train kills 40-year-old Trader at Bediako

A tragic accident occurred in Bediako, a suburb of Kpone-Katamanso, when a test-run train on the newly constructed Tema-Mpakadan railway fatally struck a 40-year-old trader, identified as Jemila Yahyah.

According to eyewitnesses, the deceased was attempting to cross the railway tracks when she was hit by the moving train.

In fear for his life, the Test-Run Train driver reportedly moved the train from the scene to a different location after the accident.

A team of police officers has since conveyed the body of the deceased to the morgue as investigations continue.

Meanwhile, officials from AFCONS Construction Limited, the contractors working on the Tema-Mpakadan railway project, went to the scene to assess the situation.

Residents have expressed shock over the incident, with some calling for enhanced safety measures along the railway to prevent future occurrences.

On the other hand, the Authorities are yet to release an official statement on the matter.
