Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Training Institute (TPTI) will soon be extended to the Ashanti, Western, Volta, and Northern Regions to enable those in the other regions to have easy access to the institute

This was made known by the Director of the Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Training Institute, Rev. Joseph Ahiable at the 4th graduation ceremony of the Institution.

The 4th graduation ceremony of the Institute was held in Accra on Thursday, May 25th, 2023, at the Sika Hall inside the Headquarters of Atinka Media Village (AMV), under theme, “The Changing Roles of MCA’s in Pharmaceutical Care”.

About 100 students, consisting of two batches graduated from the Institute after taking a six months course, both theory and practicals in Medicine Counter Assistant (MCA).

The Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Training Institute (TPTI) was established 4 years ago through the Vision of the Executive Chairman of the Tobinco Group of Companies, Elder Nana Amo Tobbin I to provide excellent tuition and training to its students to become very skillful and knowledgeable so that they can deliver the highest quality health care in the pharmaceutical industry.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony, Rev. Joseph Ahiable said, “With the Tobinco brand supporting our efforts,  we hope to remain the top-notch institute in the pharmaceuticals arena nationwide. All efforts are being made to expand our frontiers to the other regions of Ghana.”

Aside from offering quality education both practical and theory to the students, he assured the public of affordability, encouraging all who desire to take the MCA course to contact the Tobinco Pharmaceuticals Training Institute.

Meanwhile, he admonished graduands to be good ambassadors of the TPTI and the Tobinco brand while they are out there, especially in the field of their work.

For her part, the National Public Relations Officer(PRO) for the Association of Medicine Counter Assistants Ghana (AMCAG), Ms. Constance Ofosu, encouraged the MCAs to join the Association.
She pleaded with MCAs who have not gone through the re-schooling to do so to keep working, explaining that there would be a time when they cannot practice as an MCA without the new certificate issued by the Pharmacy Council.

“The Association has branches in almost all the regions in Ghana where meetings are being organized every month for its members. At these meetings, members are enlightened on the current treatment regimen of common ailments and also bring on board Pharmaceutical companies to have presentations on their products making work life in our facilities easier. It also creates an avenue for members to socialize and learn from each other. I hereby invite you all to join and get registered with the Association and enjoy its benefits,” she added.
