The National Tripartite Committee, represented by Government, Employers, and Organised Labour/Associations has commenced negotiations on the determination of the 2025 Minimum Wage.
The discussions commenced on Monday, February 03, 2025.
This was contained in a statement by the Presidency, signed by Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Ag. Spokesperson to the President.
This comes following concerns of cost-of-living increases and labour demands for fair compensation amidst the economic hardship.
According to the Presidency, negotiations for base pay (public sector salaries) will follow that of the minimum wage.
“Given that negations for both the minimum wage and the base pay for the 2025 financial year are behind schedule as they were expected to be completed by the end of April 2024, per the Public Financial Management (PFM) Act —Government is calling on social partners (government, employers, organised labour) to work expeditiously to complete the negotiations in time to inform the 2025 Budget,” the Presidency stated.
