University of Ghana withdraws students with CGPA below 1.0

The University of Ghana, Legon, have asked level 200 and 300 students in the Colleges of Basic and Applied Sciences, Education and Humanities whose CGPA’s are below 1.0 to expect official withdrawal letters from the University.

This development, according to the University is in accordance with Section 9.26 of the University Regulations for Junior Members (2017), which states that undergraduate students who do not achieve the stipulated minimum CGPA for progression to the next level of study should be withdrawn from the university.

A notice issued by the Academic Affairs Directorate of the University noted that current level 200 and level 300 students who have received examination results for all 2022/2023 registered courses and obtained a CGPA below the approved minimum for their college should expect official withdrawal letters from the University.

The notice also added that students who have already paid their tuition fees for the 2023/2024 academic year, will be issued a refund upon request.

The notice also extended invitations to any students who have questions or requires support to report to the relevant College Academic Affairs Office.
