There was tension at the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) office
on Thursday, January 30, 2025 when Adongo Atule Jacob, who had been appointed as Deputy CEO by the president, was asked to hold off resuming his official duties.
On January 27th, a letter sighted from the Presidency, signed by Callistus Mahama, Secretary to the President stated that Adongo Atule Jacob had been appointed Deputy CEO of the Youth Employment Agency.
This was effective 27th January, 2025.
However, upon reaching the office, Adongo was asked to hold on as his appointment has been revoked, though unconfirmed.
This unexpected turn of events did not sit well with Jacob’s supporters, who vowed to resist any attempt to revoke his appointment.
Speaking with the media, Jacob Adongo said he has not received any letter from the president indicating the revocation of his appointment as the deputy YEA CEO.
The situation has created a tense atmosphere at the agency as stakeholders await further developments.
