Veteran Ghanaian actor and General Manager of Dadi Multimedia, Mr. Samuel Karikari Seth K-Okyere, popularly known as Koo-Fori of the hit TV series Efiewura, has been arrested by the Accra Central Police Command for allegedly defrauding a US-based Ghanaian of $50,000.
According to police sources, Koo-Fori is accused of receiving the amount from the victim, who resides in California, under the pretense of securing a legitimate investment opportunity. However, the actor allegedly failed to fulfill his end of the agreement and went into hiding after collecting the money.
The victim, whose identity has not been disclosed, reported the matter to authorities after several failed attempts to retrieve the funds. Investigations revealed that Koo-Fori had not only defaulted on payment but also refused to appear before the Dansoman District Court on April 17, 2025 — prompting the court to issue a bench warrant for his arrest.
Koo-Fori was subsequently picked up by police and is currently in custody. He was scheduled to appear in court today, May 9, 2025, but the hearing was postponed due to the court not sitting. The case has been rescheduled for Monday, May 12, 2025.
Meanwhile, the accused is expected to remain in police custody until the next court date. The police have urged the public to be cautious when engaging in financial transactions, especially those involving large sums and informal agreements.
