Volta Region: Alan promises to replace “Godfather” Rawlings when elected

Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, an aspirant in the impending Presidential primaries of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has promised to play the Godfather duties of the late President Jerry John Rawlings the Volta region when elected.

Alan said this while speaking to delegates from various constituencies who gathered at Aflao in Ketu South, Dzodze, in the North and Sogakope in Central Tongu respectively on Monday, 17th July 2023.

He entreated the delegates to support him in the November NPP primaries, and eventually, in the 2024 elections to become President of the nation so he can carry on with the duties the late President.

“I bear some of the charisma of the late President Rawlings and so I will appeal to all Voltarians to extend the same love they had for the late President to me to enable me to lead the nation and ensure that the Region gets its fair share of the national cake,” Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen told the delegates.

He opined that although the Volta Region is seen as not belonging to the NPP, he was optimistic that the political dynamics would change, after he has been elected to lead the party in November.

Alan Kyeremanten reiterated that he was the only candidate in the NPP who can march the NDC ‘boot-for-boot’ in the Volta region and therefore urged the delegates to come out in their numbers and vote for him when the time is due.

Also speaking to the delegates, Minister for Railways and MP for Hohoe, John Peter Amewu entreated the delegates’ to be bold and vote massively for Hon Kyerematen without any fear.

“I will plead with all of you to do away with the fear factor and allow anybody to intimidate you, I am a cabinet minister but I have not failed to openly show my support for Alan Kyerematen and I have not been admonished by the President for doing so,” Peter Amewu added.
