VRA Senior Staff grateful to Akufo-Addo for sacking Agyarko

Divisional Chairman for the Public Service Workers Union at the Volta River Authority (VRA), Joseph Kaba Adatuu, says the Association is grateful to President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo -Addo for dismissing the Energy Minister over the reviewed Ameri deal.

President Akufo- Addo sacked the Energy Minister, Boakye Agyarko, Monday over the reviewed Ameri deal and tasked Minister for Lands and Natural resources, John Peter Amewu, to step in until a substantive minister is appointed.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive Tuesday, Joseph Kaba Adatuu, explained that the action of the President is an indication that this government is indeed a listening government.

He added that the VRA Senior Staff were concerned about the whole Ameri deal because they knew the reviewed Ameri Deal would have caused the whole country huge sums of money.

“The Ameri deal is in the interest of Ghanaians and it deserved all the hype it got. We are grateful to the President for the swift action taken in this situation. If there is a cause for jubilation then the whole of Ghana should jubilate and not only VRA Senior Staff,” he said.

The joint committee on Finance and Energy of Parliament refused to approve the new deal because it had no signatures from the Attorney General and Finance minister.
