The President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo Addo says the current NPP administration is resurrecting Ghana’s railway system.
He said this in an encounter with the media at the banquet hall of the jubilee house in Accra, Wednesday evening.
According to the President, the railway to Tarkwa through Nsuta is almost complete.
“When I went to see the work on the railway work for myself, I was touched because of the enthusiasm of the workers I expect that the managers of the railway facility will maintain it with great prudence.
“Work is ongoing on the Accra-Achimota and Achimota-Nsawam sections of the rail line and it will be complete. The first $650m worth of the project has been approved by parliament and will be disbursed soon and I expect that the managers of the railway facility will maintain it with great prudence”, he said
He noted that the although the lack of money has dampened Ghana’s confidence, the Presidency will never trade anything for our sovereignty as a country.
