“We are working towards getting the kidnapped girls rescued”– Gender Minister assures Parents

Minister for Gender and Social Protection and Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Mammle Morrison, has assured parents of the Takoradi kidnap case that the Gender minister will do all it can to work together with the Police to rescue the girls.

Takoradi has over the past moths been hit with series of kidnappings reports.

Between August of 2018 and January 2019, there have been a number of kidnappings which has generated an operation #BringBackOurTaadiGirls on Social media.

Notable among them is he kidnap of three girls; 15-year old Priscilla Mantebea Koranchie, Priscilla Blessing Bentum, 21, and Ruth Love Quayson.

Recently, a suspect, Nigerian Sam Udoetuk Wills, was re-arrested after breaking out of police custody in connection with these girls.

However, none of the people he is thought to have kidnapped have been found.

Speaking to Ekourba Gyasi on Atinka AM Drive, Minister for Gender and Social Protection and Member of Parliament for Agona West, Cynthia Mammle Morrison explained that she is very optimistic that the girls are alive.

She however expressed her worry over the fact that the suspect is failing to give leads to the rescue of these girls.

In a fresh report, 25-year-old Maame Darkoa Anomah, has been kidnapped in West Tanokrom in Takoradi.

According to reports, the kidnappers allegedly called to warn the family not to report the case to the Police.

A relative of the victim who spoke to the media explained that 25-year-old Maame Darkoa Anomah has been missing since last week.

She noted that the Family only got suspicious after they received a message from someone through her phone suggesting that she had been held by kidnappers
