Members of the Volta Separatist Group, Homeland study group, have reportedly mounted two billboards in Akorley in Somanya on the morning of Thursday, 3 September, 2020.
The billboard, which has the text, “Welcome to Western Togo Land” when heading towards Somanya from Accra and “You are leaving Western Togo Land” when heading to Accra, is erected in addition to a flag with colors, Orange, White and Green.
A resident, Samuel, whose house is around the location of the billboard said the board was erected either in the night or early dawn of Thursday.
Meanwhile reports from Somanya indicate that Armed police officers from the Yilo Krobo Command have pulled down the billboard.
