Prior to the match, a lot of Ghanaians have thrown their support towards the Ghana Black Stars despite the team’s abysmal performance during the 2022 AFCON and even the matches played so far with regards to the World Cup qualifiers.

Speaking on Atinka TV’s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Mo Shaban said while the Nigerian team has strikers, the Ghanaian team has defenders.

“When you look at the quality of our players, the depth of the squad is low as compared to Nigeria. Nigeria has had a bit of consistency from AFCON and the World Cup Playoffs. But, our only current stable position we have is Alexander Djiku and Daniel Amartey who play four and five” he said.

Meanwhile, he was of the belief that Ghana can win the game, urging the Ghanaians not to concede defeat.

“I think we have a good technical team, my only hope is that Ghanaians will not concede defeat, but I am telling Ghanaians that we could win, we could draw, but all hope is not lost, we can also go and win in Nigeria,” he added.

For his part, Sports Host on Atinka TV Edward King Akufo also said the game will be “tight”, adding that it may go either ways.

He urged all Ghanaians to accept whatever the outcome of the match would be.

“Ghanaians should open their minds. There are three things involved, it is either win, lose or draw and so whatever happens, let us just accept it,” he added.
