President of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC), Rev. Paul Frimpong Manso has urged the Peace Council to intensify the fight against vigilantism ahead of the 2020 election.
According to him, the security establishment can ensure a peaceful, free and fair election and that there is no point in encouraging vigilantism.
“We have capable security personnel in the country, why should the services of body built-men be encouraged in the elections?” he quizzed.
Rev. Frimpong maintained that members of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) would not support any political party that would engage in vigilantism in the 2020 general elections.
“We will tell our members not to support any political party that engages in vigilantism because they want to destroy our country”.
“Let’s all be law-abiding citizens, come together to end vigilantism in the country,” Rev. Frimpong Manso advised.
Rev. Frimpong Manso made the assertions in an interview with Atinka news at this year’s National Executive Council Retreat, Heads of Churches, General Secretaries, Regional Chairmen and National Delegates Conference held at the Pentecost Convention Center (PCC) in the Central region of Ghana on Wednesday 5th February, 2020.
Speaking further, Rev. Frimpong Manso pleaded with pastors to give out their pulpits to genuine men of God and not those commercializing the gospel..
“Know the character, teachings and impartation the pastor you are inviting to your church has before giving him or her your pulpit to lead your congregation in service,” he said.
He continued, “Let’s not deviate from the core teachings of Pentecostalism.”
Rev. Frimpong Manso admonished members of the Ghana Pentecostal and Charismatic Council (GPCC) to be committed to teaching sound doctrines of the Christian faith.
