The Members of Parliament for Builsa South and Akatsi North, Dr Clement Appak and Peter Nortsu-Kotoe respectfully, have filled a motion to investigate leakage in the 2020-21 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE).
The two are Members of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This comes after WAEC rescheduled the 2021 WASSCE Physics and Business Management examinations in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) following some alleged leakages.
The two papers which were to be written on Wednesday, September 15 was rescheduled by the regulatory body.
Speaking at a press conference after the incident, The Head of the Council’s Test Administration Division, George Ohene-Mantey, The cheating social media groups were in full swing prior to the conduct of the 2021 WASSCE mathematics and the English language papers on 9th and 13th September.
“After the administration of the test, careful scrutiny of the several versions [of suspected leaks] received indicated that extracts of parts of the questions in mathematics elective two and section A of English Language two were circulated on social media platforms,” he added.

Meanwhile, A Senior Research Fellow of the Kumasi Technical University, Dr. Smart Sarpong, who seem displeased with the turnout of events expressed disappointment in the West African Examinations Council (WAEC).
He bemoaned the incessant leak of examination questions and serial cancellation of students’ results that keeps recurring every time students are writing their exams.
He proposed that the Council should be handed over to the Military believing the Military will do a better job eliminating the exam questions leak
AN educational Think tank, Eduwatch, has also called the security agency to take up the matter.
“We are unable to share the content of our petition since it could interfere with investigations. We will keep working with state agencies to improve accountability and credibility in Ghana’s pre-tertiary assessments sector”, Executive Director of EduWatch, Kofi Asare posted on Facebook.
