3 arrested at Agbozume for attempting to sell “dead body” to spiritualist

3 suspects have been arrested at Agbozume by the Volta Regional Police Command  for allegedly attempting to sell a dead body to a spiritualist.

The suspects allegedly tried to sell the body of a 30-year-old man, they had murdered, to a spiritualist.

Atinka News’ Volta Regional Correspondent, Christopher Pappoe, who reported the incident said a fact sheet available to the police  indicates that the suspects whose names were given as– Kalefe Korku, 42, Afedo Kpotor, 21, and Ametoke Sitsofe, 27 – informed the spiritualist that they had a dead body which was up for sale.

The Police got to know of the development and planted someone who expressed interest in buying the body of the deceased.

The suspects agreed to sell the dead body to the supposed buyer for GHS7,000.

The suspects agreed to meet and hand over the dead body to the said buyer  at Agavedzi near a lagoon.

Christopher Pappoe reported that, on the D-Day the suspects, who sensed danger, took to their heels and abandoned the dead body.

“They were, however, chased by the police, who arrested all of them at their various houses at Agavedzi, Agbozume and Adina. The dead body, identified as that of Albert Anyinado, has been deposited at Ketu South Municipal Hospital morgue, awaiting autopsy.”

The three are currently assisting the Volta Regional Police Command in investigations.
