55-year-old man arrested for cutting son's ear with blade

A 55-year-old man, Osmanu Mumuni has been arrested by the Weija Divisional Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) for cutting off part of his son’s ear with blade.
According to reports, aside cutting the boy’s ear with blade, the man also placed his fingers in an open fire after suspecting him of stealing GHC250.00.
Mother of the victim, who is an ex-wife of the 55-year-old man reported the case to the police for his arrest.
“On 17/05/2020 at 10: a.m. the police received a report from the mother of the child that the day before, his ex husband Osman Mumuni whom the boy stays with chipped off part of the right ear of her son and also placed his fingers in an open fire after suspecting him of stealing GHC250.00 at Obuom-Domeabra,” the police stated.
Meanwhile, the victim who was going through severe pains at the time of report and with marks of assault all over his body was sent to the Amanfro Poly Clinic where he was treated and discharged.
He has been handed over to his mother as investigations and further prosecution continues.
The suspect, Mumuni Osmanu, is also in police custody and confessed to the crime but claimed the victim is stubborn.
