7 Fulanis killed, 5 others in critical condition at Yendi Gov’t hospital

About 7 Fulanis have been shot dead with 5 others injured following an attack on Zakoli and Kunkon communities within the Yendi Municipality of the Northern Region late this evening.

Aside that, several homes in the two communities have been burnt by invaders.

Wife of one of the victims, Ayishatu Funsi, speaking to journalists, expressed shock at the attack, stating that they had no problem with anyone to the best of her knowledge.

According to her, the attackers who were well armed invaded the community with motorbikes.

“When they came, they separated women and children on one side and killed only the men. They killed my husband and his brother and torched our house,” She revealed.

On Monday, a teacher of Dagbon State Senior High School believed to be a Konkomba was killed by armed robbers suspected to be of Fulani extraction.

That, according to sources angered the Konkomba communities in the Fulani enclave to retaliate the killing of the teacher.

Meanwhile, the injured are responding to treatment at the Yendi Government hospital at the time of report.

The remains of the deceased persons have also been conveyed to the Yendi Government hospital morgue for preservation.

Founder and President of COA FS and Global Peace Mission (COA-GPM), Prof. Samuel Ato Duncan says he was born to propagate peace and unity across the world.

According to him, he had a calling to advocate peace and therefore initiating programmes to propagate peace across the globe.

He made this known after donating over $2 million towards a global peace campaign which would be embarked on by the Center of Awareness-Global Peace Mission (COA-GPM).

This support is a five-year strategic plan to promote world peace.

The COA FS Boss announced during COA’s Fourth Public Lecture in Cape Coast on Sunday that he has allocated $2 million towards a global peace campaign.

The main objective of this initiative according to him is to end world violence, and the campaign targets traditional leaders, youth groups, and thought leaders in society with much focus on the political class since they have been voted to safeguard the safety of citizens against wars.
