The Director of Legal Affairs for the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Lawyer Edudzi Tamakloe, has challenged the ruling New Patriotic Party and the Attorney General to produce the original “Godfred Dame tape” if they claim the NDC’s own is doctored.
The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has made a passionate call for the immediate dismissal of Attorney General and Minister for Justice, Godfred Yeboah Dame, following the release of a tape that allegedly captures the voice of the latter cajoling a witness to implicate Minority Leader, Casiel Ato Forson, in the ongoing ambulance trial.
Addressing the press yesterday in Accra, the Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, said the action by Godfred Dame was scandalous and called for his dismissal and prosecution.
The NDC warned that if President Akufo-Addo does not sack and prosecute his Attorney General, it will do so when it gains power in 2025.
Responding to the presser by the NDC, a member of the New Patriotic Party’s legal team, Lawyer Frank Davies said “The largest opposition party in the country is engaged in a malicious scheme fueled by lies, falsehoods, misrepresentations, blackmail and needless pollution of the mass media, with the sole intention of obstructing the course of justice”
Responding to the NPP’s cliams on Atinka FM’s AM Drive hosted by Nana Yaw Fianko, the Director of Legal Affairs of the main opposition party, the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Edudzi Tamakloe stated, “It is unfortunate that the Attorney General and the NPP are refusing to present their own version of the story to refute what they (NDC) have in their custody.”
