The Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Dzifa Gomashie, has challenged Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City Accra to take its contribution to Ghana’s hospitality sector a step further by establishing a modern, multipurpose school to train industry professionals.
Speaking at the media launch of the hotel’s 10th anniversary celebrations, the Minister commended Kempinski for its role in elevating Ghana’s tourism landscape and economy but insisted that more could be done.
“I’m surprised that Kempinski has not yet offered to build a modern school to train industry players across the value chain. The Ministry has the land—talk to me, let’s move this discussion forward,” she urged.
Hon. Gomashie highlighted the hotel’s contributions to Ghana’s tourism sector, noting that its presence has significantly enhanced the country’s international appeal.

“Your commitment to excellence has complemented our national vision of the Black Star Experience, positioning Ghana as a premier gateway to Africa’s rich heritage, vibrant culture, and unparalleled hospitality,” – she stated.

She cited Ghana’s record-breaking 1.1 million international tourist arrivals in 2023 as proof that strategic partnerships, such as the one with Kempinski, are bearing fruit.

Beyond its hospitality excellence, the Minister also commended Kempinski for its support of children with special needs.
“For years, I have been an advocate for children on the autism spectrum. When I learned of Kempinski’s support in this regard, I was elated. Thank you—but there’s room to do more,” – she noted.
