Rainstorm Destroys Homes, Displaces Residents in Kasapin

A powerful rainstorm has left a trail of destruction in Kasapin, a community in the Asunafo North Municipality of the Ahafo Region.

The storm, which struck over the weekend, ripped off roofs, destroyed personal belongings, and left many residents displaced.

Several homes and structures were severely damaged, leaving affected families in urgent need of support.

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Joseph Akparibo, and the Member of Parliament for the area visited the scene to assess the damage.

They assured residents of swift intervention and pledged to collaborate with the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO) to provide relief items including roofing sheets, nails, and mattresses.

“We are committed to supporting all affected households,” the MCE said. “Together with NADMO, we will ensure help gets to the victims as soon as possible.”

The MP also called on residents to stay safe and promised long-term support to help rebuild the community.

NADMO is expected to begin distribution of relief supplies in the coming days.
