A fierce gun battle between the personnel from the Kpone Police command and a gang of suspected armed robbers has left three suspects dead in Kpone Industrial Area in the Kpone-Katamanso Municipality of the Tema region.
The Tema Regional Police Command in a statement says it responded swiftly to a robbery alert on July 21, 2025, involving about ten armed men breaking into a warehouse at the Tema Industrial Area. Upon arrival, a patrol team encountered the suspects, leading to a shootout.
Three of the suspects were shot and killed in the process, while the rest managed to escape, some believed to be wounded.
Police retrieved a Bruni-modified foreign pistol, a locally manufactured double-barreled pistol with two rounds of ammunition, and eleven live BB rounds from the scene.
The bodies have been deposited at the Police Hospital Morgue for identification and autopsy, as investigations continue to track the remaining suspects.
Meanwhile, the Tema Regional Command has commended officers of the Kpone District for what they describe as a prompt and coordinated response.
The police are urging the public to volunteer any information that could lead to the arrest of the fleeing suspects. We’ll bring you more as the investigation progresses.
