The New Patriotic Party’s Loyal Ladies, has issued a strong-worded statement, refuting the allegation of the defection of a supposed member of the group.
In a recent “Unity Walk” organised by the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Upper West Region, a faceless lady is spotted wearing a Loyal Ladies-branded T-Shirt on the dais with high profile NDC officials.
However, in a statement issued by the leadership of Loyal Ladies, the group, expressly, disowns the said lady and denies any direct or remote dealings with her.
The group further alleges that, this ‘staged’ defection is an orchestration by Former President John Mahama and the NDC, to cause for the group in the party, considering the overwhelming support the group enjoys from the NPP.
The group affirmed its commitment and resolution to galvanizing support for the NPP’s Akufo-Addo-led government. “We wish to, however, state that we shall not allow ourselves to be swayed from our focus building a strong united ladies’ front for our dear party”, the statement noted.
Loyal ladies further used the opportunity to invite the general public to it’s second anniversary celebration, slated for the 12th to 15th of April, 2018, in Kumasi.
Below is the full statement.
‘RE: DEFECTION OF NPP LOYAL LADIES’ MEMBER.
It has come to the attention of the leadership of the NPP Loyal Ladies that, at the recent “Unity Walk” organised by the NDC in the Upper West Region, a certain lady, who stood on the dais with NDC party officials, wore an NPP Loyal Ladies branded shirt
For the records, this woman is not a member of the NPP Loyal Ladies and has never been part of our organization. We wish to state that, we are fully aware of the sinister plan by former President John Mahama and the NDC to create disunity and disaffection for the NPP Loyal Ladies; given that the group contributed immensely to his humiliating defeat in the 2016 general elections. We know, therefore, that the woman who donned our shirt to mount the dais forms part of this grand scheme.
We wish to, however, state that we shall not allow ourselves to be swayed from our focus on building a strong united ladies’ front for our dear party, the New Patriotic Party. We condemn, outrightly, these shenanigans by the Incompetent John Mahama and his NDC.
Our love for the New Patriotic Party and its faithful ladies is borne out of a genuine belief in the ability and capacity of Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP to drive this country to a prosperous destination – something the NDC is completely bereft of. This is abundantly evident in credible policies and programs such as the Free SHS, restoration of teacher and nurses trainee allowances, the abolishment of dumsor among many other useful developmental interventions by the NPP’s Nana Akufo-Addo led government.
Consequently, we continue to organise ourselves daily to provide the necessary socio-political support to achieve this objective.
The NPP Loyal Ladies will be holding a National Gathering from the 12th to the 14th of April in Kumasi.
Activities outlined include a health screening at the Bantama Market, Kumasi on Friday, a symposium on “Women in Politics” on Saturday, the 13th, which will be followed with an Awards Night, later, in the evening.
We are inviting the general public to join us.
The NPP Loyal Ladies reiterates its unwavering commitment to President Nana Akufo-Addo’s firm agenda to build a Ghana Beyond Aid. We have work to do, and we shall not allow an incompetent John Mahama who wears his incompetence as a badge of honour and his petty shenanigans to distract us.
