Rev Owusu Bempah gets gov’t appointment 

 

Founder and President of Glorious Word Power Ministry, Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah, has been appointed as a member of the Breast and Cervical Cancer Board under the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection.

 The Minister of Gender Children and Social Protection, Madam Otiko Afisah Djabah, inaugurated the 16-  member Board in Accra Monday.

Members on the Board include, Dr. Mrs. Beatrice Wiafe Addai, President and Founder; Breast Care International is the Chairperson, Hon. Tina Gifty Mensah, Deputy Health Minister, Ms. Bernice Adjei, Nurse and Teacher, Ms. Martha Adwoa Essien, CEO of Eat Rite Food Affairs, Dr. Kingsley Nyarko, Snr. Lecturer,  Department of Psychology, University of Ghana, Dr. Charity Binka, Lecturer, Dominion University College and Rev. Isaac Kwaku Fokuo, District Minister Presbyterian Church of Ghana Tema North.

Other members are, Prophet Owusu Bempah, General Overseer Glorious Word Power Ministry, Dr. Joyce Aryee, Management, Communication & Environment Consultant, Cynthia Baffour, a Professional Teacher, Mrs. Ekua Annan, Breast Cancer Advocate, Breast Care International, Dr. Tony Opoku Agyeman, Lecturer, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, Mr. Osei Boakye, Law Student and Journalist, Breast Care International, Dr. Baffour Awuah, Radiation Oncologist Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital and Sibaway Zakariya, Director Afro 

According to the Minister, the board will design and implement advocacy programmes to create awareness on breast and cervical cancer and to solicit funding from the public, corporate bodies, development partners and other international philanthropists to supplement government’s effort to curtail the impact of the deadly disease.

“It is our anticipation that the Board will be effective in helping the country’s effort towards reducing the impact of the disease,” the minister said.
