The Member of Parliament for Gomoa Central, Kwame Asare Obeng (A Plus), has praised the Central Regional Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Dr. Richard Kofi Asiedu, for showing leadership by apologising to the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), Obaatanpa FM and journalists across the country over the alleged attack on the Kasoa-based radio station.
Speaking at the Ghana International Press Centre in Accra, A Plus described the Chairman’s decision to personally apologise as an example of humility and accountability.
“He has shown clearly that he is a gentleman. He has shown humility and has done more than what the GJA demanded of him,” – A Plus said.
He noted that although political parties may disagree with media coverage, attacks on journalists and media houses should never be tolerated.

Prof. Asiedu, who led the delegation to the GJA, rendered an unqualified apology, saying his intention had not been to disrupt the station’s live programme but to engage its management over concerns.
Receiving the apology, GJA President Albert Kwabena Dwumfour accepted it and urged the Obaatanpa FM team to do the same in good faith.
“We accept the apology and urge the Obaatanpa Radio team to accept it in good faith. Go and sin no more,” he said.
