Dr. Aboagye DaCosta, Director of Health Promotions, at the Ghana Health Service (GHS), says although the fight against the coronavirus was tough, stringent measures put in place by government have contributed to the successful fight .
President of the Republic of Ghana, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has said Ghana’s Covid-19 recovery rate currently stands at 98.5%.
The President said this while addressing the nation for the 18th time following the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic in March 2020.
Akufo-Addo added that Ghana has been spared of further restrictions on the management of the country’s COVID-19 case count due to the improvement in the recovery rate.
“We have also improved considerably the availability of PPEs for hospitals. There have been no calls on shortages in the hospitals so far,” he added.
The President called on Ghanaians to maintain a positive outlook in the management of Ghana’s COVID-19 cases, especially in the build-up to the Dec 7 Presidential and parliamentary elections.
Speaking on Atinka FM’s AM Drive, Dr. Aboagye DaCosta said the fight against coronavirus was successful due to some bold measures put in place by government and the support of Ghanaians.
“ The fight against covid-19 became very tough in Ghana. We adopted three T’s measures which are the Tracing, Testing and Treatment. We added enhanced tracing and community sweep to beef up the fight. As part of the tracing, we tested risk groups,” he added.
Ghana has recorded a total of 47,232 cases, of which 46,578 have recovered.
The death toll remains 310.
