The Member for Bekwai Constituency, Joseph Osei-Owusu has been declared the First Deputy Speaker of the 8th Parliament of Ghana.
The Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu proposed Joseph Osei-Owusu as First Deputy Speaker and the proposal was seconded by Haruna Iddrisu who is the Minority Leader.
Alban Sumani Bagbin then declared the Member Joe Wise as the First Deputy Speaker of the house.
Second Deputy
The Member of Parliament for Fomena Constituency, an Independent Candidate, Andrew Asiamah Amoako was also elected as the second Deputy Speaker of the house.
Alhaji Mohammed Mubarak Muntaka, the Member of Parliament for Asawase first proposed Andrew Asiamah Amoako, as the second Deputy Speaker.
Alexander Afenyo Markin, MP for Efutu then seconded the proposal and Alban Sumani Bagbin declared the MP for Fomena as the second Deputy of the 8th parliament.
