The Head of the Public Relations Unit of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Cassandra Twum-Ampofo, has been awarded the Outstanding Communication Professional of the Year (Public Sector) at the National conference and Business Leadership Awards.
The award is just one of many awards and honours she has received for her distinctive and excellent communication skills in her line of duty as the voice of GES.
The National Governance and Business Leadership Awards is a C-level high-impact, economic empowerment and leadership awards programme developed by RAD Communications to champion good governance, economic empowerment and job creation in Ghana.
The event celebrates and reward excellent companies, organizations and individuals across Ghana.
The Awards Ceremony, which took place at the Labadi Beach Hotel and chaired by the Professor Emeritus Stephen Adei saw Madam Akosua Boateng pick up the award for Ms. Cassandra Twum Ampofo due to ill- health.

Profile
Ms Cassandra Twum Ampofo is an Accredited Member of the Institute of Public Relations, Ghana. She holds a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Cape Coast, Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communications Studies (with specialization in Public Relations) from the Christian Service University College, a Diploma in Journalism from the Institute of Business Management and Journalism in Kumasi.
As a professional teacher, she obtained her Post Sec Teachers Certificate from Holy Child College, Takoradi and joined the Ghana Education Service in 2004 and had been in the Ashanti Region as the Regional Public Relations Officer of the GES until 2018 when was appointed head of the PR Unit of the GES at the head office.
Awards and Honours
In 2020, Ms Twum Ampofo was named as one of the top ten women in PR GH 2019.
As the first female to head the PR Unit at the GES Headquarters, Cassandra, was honoured with a citation by the Greater Accra PR officer of the GES for changing the face of PR in the GES.
In 2021, Cassandra was named the Communication Personality of the Year at the National Communications Awards.
