KOSS murder: 5 students remanded into juvenile detention

Five juveniles standing trial in relation to the murder of 17 -year-old Larhan Samun of the Konongo Odumase Senior High School in the Ashanti region have been remanded into a Juvenile Detention Centre at Asante Akyem Juaso for one week.

They are to help police complete its investigations.

The prosecution, led by the Konongo Divisional Commander, Chief Supt. Shaibu Osei pleaded with the court presided over by Her Worship Joyce Bamfo to remand the students to enable the police complete investigations and was subsequently granted.

The trial of the Juvenile at the Konongo Odumase District Court presided over by Her Worship Joyce Bamfo was held in camera on Monday November 8, 2021 due to the Juvenile status in accordance with the Juvenile Justice act of the country.

Five students of KOSS were arrested for their involvement in the death of 17-year-old Larhan Sam-una, a Form One student of the school.

The suspects, all Form Two students aged 17, are alleged to have taken part in acts that led to Samuna’s death last Friday.

The Samuna was allegedly stabbed in the left rib with a kitchen knife by a Form Two student for refusing to be bullied by Form Two students.

Sam-una, who tried to stop his seniors from bullying his mate, was stabbed with the knife which was concealed on one of the alleged culprits.

He was rushed to the Konongo Government Hospital but was pronounced dead on arrival after he had lost so much blood.

Meanwhile, Briefing the media after the court sitting, the Konongo Divisional Police Commander, Chief Supt . Shaibu Osei and Counsel for the first accused person, Richard Adu Darko explained what inspired at the chamber of the presiding Judge to the media.
