Speaking on Atinka TV‘s morning show, Ghana Nie with Ekourba Gyasi Simpremu, Mr Sule Salifu said he and the Regional Minister visited the Chief of Lameshegu and he also confirmed everything was okay, but requested for a quick autopsy on the deceased so that burial can take place according to the Muslim tradition.

When asked if the people of Lameshegu are pleased with the Ghana Police Service for their action taken so far, including the interdiction of the six police officers who were involved in the incident, he said yes, adding that the involvement of the Chief and Elders in the matter tells how pleased they are with the Police.

“The citizens are happy over the swift measures taken by the Police, especially the interdiction of the police officers and the quick dispatch of some senior security officers from the Head Quarters to come and assist the police in investigating this matter. If you look at the way the Ya Na also intervened and quickly sent a team of high profile delegation made up of Chiefs to Tamale to meet the Municipal Security Council and the Regional Security Council, it has given some hope to the citizens,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr Sule Salifu added that, “Now what the Chiefs are requesting is that they want to have a representative in whatever investigations so that they will know where investigations have reached with time.”
