The Government of Ghana has asked Ghanaian students in Ukraine to seek refuge in their homes and in government places as they engage the relevant authorities to take further action.
This statement by the government of Ghana comes after reports of attacks on Ukrainian military infrastructure across Ukraine, and Russian convoys entering from all directions went viral.
The attack by Russia comes after months of tension between the two countries while diplomatic efforts to resolve the problem have been futile.
Atinka News’ source in Ukraine says that they heard strong blasts in the capital Kiev, as well as Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region in eastern Ukraine.
They also confirmed that there have been blasts in the southern port city of Odesa.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is reported to have said on Wednesday that Russia is attacking his country’s “military infrastructure” and border guards in a brief televised address to the nation.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reportedly called for martial law and pledged victory.
In a tweet, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration said government is gravely concerned about the security and safety of our over 1000 students and other Ghanaians in Ukraine.
The government has asked students to take refuge in their homes or in government shelters until the government commits the authorities to the next line of action.
“The Government of Ghana is gravely concerned about the security and safety of our over 1000 students and other Ghanaians in Ukraine and has asked them to shelter in place in their homes or in government places of shelter.”
“As we engage the authorities, our relevant diplomatic missions and our honorary consul on further measures,” the Ministry said in a tweet.
